Recently, DTM driver Maro Engel took it for a spin on the Nürburgring and set a stunning lap time of 6 minutes and 29 seconds—beating his own record by six seconds! This hybrid hypercar packs a punch with 1,049 horsepower, combining four electric motors with a 1.6-liter turbocharged V6. Check out the jaw-dropping lap below!

So, how did Engel manage to improve his lap time so much? Mercedes credits the better track conditions this time around. While his previous lap was on a damp track, this one had ideal conditions with cool air and a warm track, giving the AMG One excellent grip.

As for how long this record will last, it’s anyone’s guess! With cars like the Aston Martin Valkyrie and Red Bull RB17 gearing up for their own laps, and a new Porsche 911 GT2 RS on the way, it’s an exciting time for supercar fans. You’ll see what we mean when you check out the amazing lap above!
