The Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed is a high-performance, open-top car that delivers an unforgettable driving experience. Inspired by Mercedes-Benz’s racing heritage, it blends sleek motorsport design, cutting-edge materials, and advanced technology for an adrenaline-packed ride.
“The Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed is the most direct way to experience performance and fun at the wheel. Thanks to the car’s radically open design with no roof or windscreen, nothing separates the driver and passenger from the elements.”
Michael Schiebe, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH and Head of Business Units Mercedes-Benz G-Class & Mercedes-Maybach
The Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed features a bold, open-top design that’s all about performance. With its low, sleek profile, long bonnet, and distinctive shark-nose front, it captures the spirit of a true sports car. The wide air intakes, AMG logo, and dark chrome Mercedes star on the nose echo the design of the Mercedes-AMG ONE.
The car’s aerodynamic design is finely tuned, with small, transparent deflectors on the front and sides to reduce turbulence for a smoother ride. Carbon fibre elements add a sharp contrast to the smooth, sculpted body, enhancing both looks and performance.
The 21-inch forged aluminum wheels, with carbon fibre covers, help reduce air resistance, with fully closed rear covers for better efficiency and open front covers for improved airflow and brake cooling. The side sill trim, aero flics, and muscular rear end further emphasize the car’s dynamic performance-focused design.
A standout feature of the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed is the HALO system, replacing the traditional A-pillar. Inspired by Formula 1™ cars, this safety element protects the driver’s head in case of an accident. Made from a sturdy tubular steel frame, the HALO system is securely attached to the car’s structure and aerodynamically designed to protect both passengers. It even features LED lighting at the bottom for a cool, ambient glow.
In addition, the car comes with custom-designed helmets that match the car’s color. These helmets include an intercom system, allowing the driver and passenger to communicate clearly at high speeds. You can also connect smartphones to the system to make calls or listen to music, all while on the road.
The Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed has many features that pay tribute to motorsport history. The two scoops behind the seats, bearing the AMG emblem, are inspired by legendary cars like the 300 SLR, which won the 1955 Mille Miglia race with Stirling Moss behind the wheel. The car also comes in an exclusive Silver Arrow finish, in a stunning mystic silver mango color.
For those wanting a more racing-inspired look, the optional motorsport styling package offers colors like Le Mans red or graphite grey with a black AMG pattern. The red is a nod to the 1924 Targa Florio race, where a German Mercedes car, painted red to avoid interference from Italian fans, took first place. To honor this historic win, the styling package features a ‘10’ on the front wing, just like the car that crossed the finish line 100 years ago.
The interior of the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed stands out with a stylish two-tone color scheme in crystal white and black. Every detail, from the AMG Performance steering wheel to the luxurious floor mats, ties into this sleek design. The standout feature is the AMG Performance seats. These seats not only offer amazing comfort with heating and multi-contour adjustment, but their special leather and unique stitching also provide excellent support, inspired by the flowing air around the car.
Another impressive touch is the custom-designed analogue clock by IWC Schaffhausen. Positioned at the center of the dashboard in a drop-shaped carbon fiber housing, the clock looks like it’s floating. With a unique PureSpeed dial and AMG rhombi, it’s not only a functional timepiece but also a striking design element. The clock’s dial lights up for easy visibility in the dark and has a distinctive bezel that pays homage to the IWC Ingenieur Collection.
