The new Pagani Utopia Roadster combines incredible design with cutting-edge car technology. It’s the open-top version of the Utopia coupe introduced in 2022. Instead of just removing the roof and reinforcing the body, Pagani revamped the Carbo-Titanium frame to be super strong yet lightweight. The Roadster weighs just as little as the coupe, tipping the scales at around 2822 pounds—dry weight.
The Pagani Utopia Roadster stands out by skipping hybrid tech, offering a pure driving experience with a seven-speed manual transmission. Its twin-turbo 6.0-liter V-12, built by Mercedes-AMG, pumps out a mighty 852 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque. If you prefer an automatic, there’s a seven-speed option with paddle shifters. While Pagani hasn’t released exact performance numbers, the Roadster’s top speed is electronically capped at 217 mph.
The Utopia Roadster’s hardtop has a cool glass panel to keep the cabin feeling open. You can take it off and store it safely when you’re not driving. If bad weather hits, there’s a soft top tucked away behind the seats that you can use. For luggage, the car comes with two carbon fiber and leather suitcases that fit perfectly beside the engine. Plus, there are matching garment bags stored behind the headrests for extra convenience.
With a price tag of about $3.4 million, the Utopia Roadster offers endless customization options. The car shown here is in striking Habanero Red, highlighting its carbon-fiber body. It will make its debut at Monterey Car Week and features the optional Sport package, which adds unique Carbo-Titanium parts, including the flaps, seat structures, and gear shifter.
nside the Utopia Roadster, you’ll find a touch of old-school charm with a modern twist. There’s a single digital display for things like navigation and the backup camera, while the rest of the cabin features tactile, intricate controls, from the exposed shifter linkage to the elegant toggles and steering wheel. The steering wheel itself is a marvel, crafted from a single aluminum block and milled for 28 hours to weigh just 3.5 pounds. The seat cushions feature a stylish checkered pattern called Grecale and Huayra Signature leather. Plus, the key is a cool replica of the car and has its own special spot on the center console.
Pop open the rear hood of the Utopia Roadster, and the show continues. The V-12 engine is dressed up with bronze valve covers and carbon fiber, visible through a small window. The car’s quad-tipped exhaust and striking 21-inch front and 22-inch rear wheels, designed to cool the brakes, add to its flair. The Brembo brakes are top-notch, with huge carbon-ceramic rotors—16.1 inches in the front and 15.4 inches in the back—paired with powerful six- and four-piston calipers.
The Pagani Utopia Roadster is officially approved for sale in the U.S., but don’t get too excited if you’re rich. With only 130 models being made worldwide, even the wealthiest won’t necessarily get one.
