New Mercedes models coming in 2025

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV, famous for its off-road abilities and luxury appeal, is now going electric with the G580. Keeping its classic boxy look, this new version features four electric motors—one near each wheel—for impressive off-road performance. With a total of 579 horsepower, it promises strong performance like its gas-powered sibling, the G63 AMG.

The G580 with EQ Technology is not your typical gas-powered SUV. With four electric motors—one for each wheel—it packs a punch with 579 horsepower and 859 pound-feet of torque. What’s really cool? It can spin 360 degrees on the spot using a feature called G-Turn, making tight maneuvers a breeze. G-Steering adjusts each motor’s power for better off-road handling, while virtual differential locks and torque vectoring keep it stable on rough terrain. Despite its electric makeover, it stays true to its roots with a rugged ladder frame and solid rear axle

The G-Class EV packs a hefty 116.0-kWh battery, tucked into its sturdy frame. While Mercedes-Benz hasn’t given an exact range yet, we’re guessing it’ll go about 240 miles on a full charge—perfect for everyday adventures. When it’s time to recharge, the G-Class EV can fast-charge at up to 200 kW, getting you from 10% to 80% in just 32 minutes, which is pretty quick! Plus, it’s built tough with underbody protection, ensuring the battery stays safe even on rugged trails.

What do you think it was a good idea from Mercedes to start making Electric G – wagons?
