One of the most exciting updates is the new Light Speed Transmission (LST), which was first developed for the Jeskohypercar. Originally, the Gemera was going to have the Regera’s direct-drive system, but Koenigsegg decided to upgrade it with a nine-speed automatic. The new transmission, called the Light Speed Tourbillon Transmission (LSTT), promises lightning-fast shifts and even more thrilling driving dynamics, thanks to its direct link between the engine and the transmission—no flywheel needed.

As for the powertrain, Koenigsegg has made some key changes. The original 2.0-liter three-cylinder engine paired with three electric motors has been simplified. Now, the Gemera uses a new 800-hp electric motor called the “Dark Matter.” This single motor delivers 922 lb-ft of torque, cutting down on weight and space while still delivering plenty of power to complement the hybrid system.
