Just 50 examples of the two-seat convertible will be built, and each features the 617-hp twin-turbo V-8 from the M8 Competition.
Earlier this year at the Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza, BMW unveiled the stunning Skytop, a sleek two-seater based on the M8 Competition convertible. Excitingly, they’ve confirmed it will go into production, with only 50 units available!
The Skytop’s design stays true to the original concept, featuring a sharp front end with sleek LED headlights and bold lines along the sides. Its targa-style roof includes a stylish leather-wrapped rollover bar, and the two leather-trimmed roof panels can be easily removed and stored in the trunk. It’s a blend of luxury and performance that’s sure to turn heads!
The Skytop will be available in a stunning hand-painted color called Floating Sundown Silver, which is the only shade offered for its limited run. A distinctive spine runs down the hood and reappears as an aluminum bar on the rear, while unique winglets allow you to open the doors instead of traditional handles.
Inside, you’ll find luxurious brown leather and an elegant crystal gear selector, along with a high-end Bowers & Wilkins sound system. Under the hood, a powerful 617-hp twin-turbo V8 propels the car from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds!
Excitingly, all 50 units of the Skytop are already sold out. While the exact price for buyers isn’t confirmed, it was rumored to be around $542,000 when first revealed.
