2025 Ford Mustang GTD

That’s right. The unrestrained Stang is set to produce a full 55 more stampeding horses than the latest Mustang Shelby GT500.

Hold your horses! The Mustang GTD isn’t out yet, but Ford just dropped some thrilling news: it’ll pack a whopping 815 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. That’s definitely something to get excited about!

Exciting news! The Mustang GTD is set to hit a top speed of 202 mph, tying it with the fastest roadgoing Mustang ever. That’s 22 mph faster than the latest Shelby GT500, which maxed out at 180 mph. To achieve this speed, the GTD uses a drag reduction system that adjusts its rear wing and front flaps for better aerodynamics.

Its power comes from a supercharged 5.2-liter V8, borrowed from the Shelby GT500 but with some cool upgrades. A new dry-sump oil system improves track performance and raises the redline to 7650 rpm. With these enhancements, Ford aims to clock an official sub-seven-minute lap at Nürburgring. Exciting times ahead for Mustang fans!

The application window for buying a Mustang GTD has long closed, with buyers paying an estimated starting price of $325,000. North American production is expected to start late this year, or early in 2025.
