After producing just 2,500 units, Porsche has officially concluded the production of the 911 Dakar. However, before the last model rolled off the line, the company made sure to give it a fitting farewell.
The production of the Porsche 911 Dakar has come to an end, with the full limited run of 2,500 units now completed. To mark the occasion, Porsche created a unique Sonderwunsch edition for the final customer. This one-of-a-kind 911 Dakar features a striking three-tone paint scheme, blending Signal Yellow, Gentian Blue Metallic, and a brand-new color called Lampedusa Blue.
The Porsche 911 Dakar looks incredible from every angle, and it’s hard to go wrong with any spec—unless you pick clashing colors. But the new Sonderwunsch special edition stands out as one of the best we’ve seen, taking the 911 Dakar to the next level.
With production of the 2,500 Porsche 911 Dakars now complete, the brand is unveiling the final, one-of-a-kind Sonderwunsch edition. This special car takes custom to a whole new level, wrapped in Porsche’s Rallye Design Package and a stunning, hand-painted three-tone finish. The lower half is coated in Gentian Blue Metallic, while the upper half pops in Signal Yellow, separated by a sleek line of Lampedusa Blue that flows gracefully around the car’s curves. Lampedusa Blue, named after the Italian island, was specifically chosen with the car’s owner in mind.
The wheels follow the same striking color theme, with Signal Yellow spokes and a Lampedusa Blue lip. A thin ring of Lampedusa Blue also encircles the headlight housings. Inside, the attention to detail continues, with Signal Yellow accents and stitching on the seats, center console, and door panels. Even the 12 o’clock mark on the steering wheel gets a touch of Lampedusa Blue, making this 911 Dakar not just a car, but a true work of art.
While the Sonderwunsch 911 Dakar may be a visual masterpiece, its performance remains as thrilling as ever. Under the hood, it still packs the same 473-horsepower twin-turbo 3.0-liter flat-six engine from the 911 GTS, capable of rocketing the Dakar to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds—no complaints there. The engine is paired with an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, delivering the same heart-pounding performance that makes the Dakar so special.
And don’t worry if you’re not the lucky new owner—there’s still a chance to see this one-of-a-kind car in person. Before it heads off to its new home, it will be on display at Porsche’s museum, giving everyone a chance to appreciate the ultimate 911 Dakar up close.
